We at HO World have become fascinated with drag racing. Slot Father and Slugger have been keeping us up to date with a lot of articles recently, and new product reviews. Those can be found at the News and Archives links.

What we would like to do here, and now, is give you a demonstration through a movie that we have uploaded, of a few heats. Keep in mind these are real time, and not sped up at all. The sound you hear in the background is of a real 1:1 staging, but the whirring you will hear is the actual cars. Different from ovals or road courses, drag racing relies heavily on reflexes, and timing. An art in itself. It also depends heavily on technology, and a fine hand at tuning and engineering a car, most noticably at the higher end.

What you will also see are cars that are modeled and painted incredibly well. Keep in mind that most, if not all of the cars they use are die-cast. The cars we are showing, mostly for affect, are "fuel dragsters". And they are beautiful. And they are FAST.

Take the time to download the Quicktime player and plugin that you will need for this. It is free, and works on Windows or Mac. Since this should be a continuing series, please note that it will be important for future viewing of these, and other Quicktime features such as QTVR (Note: Media Player will not play these movies). The movie is about 1.6 MB, and will take about 5 minutes to download . Maybe less (movie will start stream before it's completely downloaded).
